EPOXSY SYSTEMS—Commercial & Industrial Flooring Experts

INDUSTRY NEWS

  • Want a LEED-certified building? Start with Epoxy Systems.
  • The green revolution has come to construction and renovation in a big way—all in the name of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system. Developed by the US Green Building Council, the LEED-rating system offers a road map for owners and design teams to come to a holistic view on the total environmental impact of a building.

Factors like site selection, water efficiency, energy consumption, material usage, indoor air quality, and creative conservation in design contribute to a building’s overall point ranking. Earn 26 points, and you come out with a Bronze LEED-certified building. Accrue 33 points to achieve Silver, 39 to reach Gold, and 52 to be awarded Platinum—the highest ranking possible.

Epoxy flooring, concrete sealers, and polish and dying techniques offer a wealth of possibilities to ramp up your overall point total. Here’s how:

    • Concrete floors are a common substrate in new and existing buildings. You can earn points by simply refurbishing or maximizing what you already have. (1-2 points)

    • The light reflective paints and finishes in seamless floors reduce energy usage and make for easy maintenance. (2-4 points)

    • Our water-based or zero VOC coatings manage construction waste and help with indoor air quality. Seamless floors are easy to clean, non-porous, and don’t harbor dust or microbes. Fluid applied flooring systems also seal the concrete and prevent radon and other gases from migrating into the building. (2-3 points)

    • Our manufacturers are US-based, cutting down on shipping concerns. (1-2 points)

    • Our durable floors have been shown to last up to three times longer than other flooring solutions. So you get exceptional value and break the cycle of constantly removing, disposing of, and replacing worn floors. (1-2 points)

It really is easy to be green. Just go with Epoxy Systems. Contact us to learn more about what we can offer your project. Learn more about the LEED green building rating system.
